Awning Problem

New to us 2015 27FB. When I deploy awning I'm unable to pull enough to have the upper arm"latch" in place. Suggestions?

Sometimes the arms get warped from misuse. Suggest you pull harder & hope it "clicks" & begins to realigns itself.

Use some spray silicone lube on the arm rails. This will allow it to slide easier and click into the extended position while you are extending the awning. Spray it at the top most piece of the inner rail and gravity will do the rest for you. You may need to exercise it a few times to get the lube to track inside the rails so they extend fully. Ed

Three things to try. First, if you are tall enough, stand under the awning and push up and out on the end of the rolled up awning. If not, when you pull out on the pole, lift up on the arm at the joint. If you pull downward at all, it binds up the sliding joint. Finally, Zip Dee sells some clamp on handles that give you a better angle and grip on the arms.

Also, periodically clean the arms of grit and corrosion. i extend them all the way and rub them with a scotchbrite pad sprayed with silicone lubricant.
