Awning lubricant ?

Iím a newbie and finding that my awning is sticking a bit when I try to close it. I remember using a lubricant in the arms last summer and being told specifically what to use so it doesnít gum up ? Iím thinking a dry lube that resists dust and dirt would work. Would this work? Something else? Thanks for your help!
