Does anyone know if Avion and Airstream parts are interchangeable? I am in need of a door lock/key system for a 1969 Avion travel trailer, and perhaps a refrigerator.

Body panels are not interchangeable. Appliances, pumps, heaters etc can be. Post a picture of the lock you need if you have one. Or the hole in the door where it goes into, I may have one. Brian
Here are pics of the distance from where the locking mechanism needs to reach. The existing handles are NOT correct nor do they function 1969 Avion T28

You need a Bargman L-100 or L-200 lock with a long stem or latch. I'd you look close at the face plate on both the inside and outside plates (the square plate that is mounted or touches to camper it will have Bargman stamped on it.
Send me a private message and I can help you with a new one.
Cayo brothers are the guys still making parts.
Bargman did do the latches.
Donald Gradeless is the authority on these trailers. You can find him at the Silver Avion Fellowship website.
I have an '87 34X and have towed it thousands and thousands of miles. Just got back from a 2400 mile trip with it. Had a blast. They're a great rig!
