Argosy 20' bathroom mirror
I went on a very bumpy dirt road, and the bathroom mirror came loose,
( read, almost fell off ) Mine is mounted with SCREWS ( ??? ), and it is very
heavy. It looks like it is just screwed into the plastic headliner.
I am wondering.....
#1 Mine is heavy. Could it be after market? Can I see a picture of yours?
#2 Is it actually screwed into the studs, not just the liner?
#3 Should I replace the screws with rivets?
I am not so good looking so I could do without a mirror, but the women folk need it for hair and make up.

I went through 99 pages of pictures
I did determine that is a factory mirror. It is hinged at top and has a storage area.

An Argosy 20 travel trailer or a 20' motor home? What year Argosy?
I hava a 20' 74 and I could take mirror mounting photos if they would help.

It's a 1973 travel trailer
As I stated in last post, I think that the mirror and frame/shelf are factory.
Now I need to know if it is supposed to be attached with screws, and would rivets be better.
I am thinking that maybe some of the screws go into studs and some go into the liner for added support.

Here are photos of the original mirror and mounts on my '74 Argosy 20' travel trailer. You can maybe see how it was attached in yours, unless they changed the system from 73 to 74. I hope it may be of a little help.

Hey Rob, Thanks
My brackets for the mirror cabinet are riveted on the side, and screwed into the wall.
One side popped out and a little crack in the plastic liner occurred
on the other side.
It is not a real beefy set up for the weight of the cabinet, mirror and
shade.
It looks like yours are screws, but who knows what the previous owners
have " engineered ".

I am sure mine are all original. You can see the little L piece of aluminum which is riveted to the wood and then only one screw goes into the wall (as you can see in the photo). I didn't look at how the shelf is attached to the wall. I agree, it is a heavy mirror for the way it was supported, but my rig probably has over 100,000 miles on it in and it is still there, solid as ever in my case. I do have a new axle now and 16" wheels and Goodrich LT tires, running 55 #, which reduces the shaking of the insides. But the old axle system was on there for 35 years.

Hey Rob, Thanks again
So my mirror is original too, according to your description.
Good to know.
By the way I just noticed that you have a Rear Door 22.
I really like those. The only one I saw in person had sheet metal
in place of the front vista windows ( what a shame ). Just a warning,
I will be checking your photos to see if I can catch a peek.
Thanks so much for your quick response.

Glad to be of some help. The rear door 22 is a hobby project currently undergoing renovation. I am not sure how far I will take it (that is where does one quit, when you only are having fun and will sell it). So, if anyone is interested it could be for sale at any time. My next projects are flooring, curtains, new (not green) countertops. And it really does need axles I am sure.
I should post photos of all of my current rigs, one more project to do.
