Antenna interference problems

I have a 2016 27' International. We are experiencing problems with the tv not holding the programmed stations, tv scrambling when bathroom fan is being used or lights are switched on. In some areas we cannot pick up any tv stations when other campers have no problems. Have already made one trip to Jackson center. They didn't see an issue. Problem has gotten worse. We have taken it to an Airstream dealer who changed out the booster. This improved it has far as picking up more stations but interference still occurs using lights and fans. Has anyone else experience problems with the wingard antenna?

I converted all my interior lights to LED. I have one light that on certain channels effects the TV sometimes.

Antenna Reception Problem on 26U. Same kind of problems .Get about 3/4 less Chnls. with light's on. Jackson Center replaced 7 LED Lights Because of "Electrical Noise" . Don't know how they pick the correct 7 ? Have not been in a (Remote) area to try again.
I think the Antenna is the problem,or too much on that 12V ckt.

The problem is noise generated by the LED dimmer/regulator(s) and the fan motor. I have the same problem with the Fantastic Fan motor in the front of my trailer which is close to the TV antenna. The noise is being radiated by the trailer wiring. It can't be eliminated at the antenna or the preamp.

I have been planning to put some capacitors or an interference filter in my fan line but haven't gotten the required Round Tuit yet.

Automobile stereo dealers sell inline interference filters to stop alternator whine from getting into the amplifier. One of those in series with the fan, at the fan may help.

As to the LEDs, if you have a central dimmer, a filter there may help. If not you may have to put one at each LED fixture.

Antenna interference problem

Just curious...we originally had a 23' International 2014. We had the crank up wingard antenna. Same type of fans and lights with no problem. We now have the stationary mushroom type antenna. Makes me wonder if the antenna is the problem causing the interference?

WOW, We thought it was where we are located. 50 miles from Houston and even further from BCS but get both areas with the new "Mushroom" antenna. Which I might add is directly behind the front AC.

The "Smart TV" by the dinette is the worst, very sketchy to the digital OTA signals. We don't think it is smart at all.... the bedroom one not so much, but still.

We have noticed that the bath or shower fans cause loss of signals on most channels. Not so much the Fantastic fan. We haven't been able to use them much with the heat. LED interference not not noticed either, but haven't experimented.

Last week while on the roof washing, I noticed the dome was loose. Is it suppose to be that way? It doesn't rotate but just rocks.

I figured it was just our location. Ha

Antenna interference

Same problem on our new 2016 Intl Signature 28. Bathroom light and overhead lights mean instant loss of signal on some channels. Just wrote Airstream service. Is it worth pursuing with them?

In my previous post I said the noise can't be eliminated at the antenna. That is true, given an antenna and a specific location and noise source. The noise is probably broadband covering a large part of the TV band. Weaker channels will be interfered with first.

That said, the Winegard Sensar antenna is directional and if you have an antenna you don't point it is omni-directional. If the signals are coming from a different direction than the noise, a properly pointed directional antenna can help.

We are being told by Airstream that they are looking into the problem.

Fan noise can be dealt with by capacitors quite easily if you can use a soldering iron. This article is pretty helpful to understand why such noise is a problem and how to fix it.

I also suspect there is bunch of poor grounds in our trailers...

Been having this issue in my 2015 FC too... Biggest issue for me is the furnace kicking on (probably a ground issue) and the bathroom vent.

Same problem on our 2017 FC 25. If we turn on the LED lights, the TV picture pixelates. It also correlates with the dimmer. When in full bright mode, picture is dead. When dimmed to lowest level, the picture is there but pixelates. Totally unacceptable for a new Airstream

We also use our DISH Tailgater satellite TV and the picture is not affected by the LED lights.

We also have bad EMI issues on our 2017 FC 27. I suspect that there simply aren't electrical engineers deeply involved in the airstream design and production process. Electrical noise and interference is a real issue and appears to have been completely overlooked.

Antenna interference problem

Originally had a 2014 international 23'. Came with crank up antenna, no interference problems.
