Hello everyone, just got a 68 caravel 17' there is no vin# plate I took a wire brush to the trailer tongue I found a number "A8108" deaply stamped but nothing else in looking at all the previous posts about Vin#s this has no relivance. Is there any where else that a hidden seriel number could be hidden? I only got a bill of sale so nothing on the title

I don't know if by '68 they were still offering the "Lifetime Warranty" or if you still have one attached inside the trailer usually in a closet (we do on our '64), but they will have the VIN # on it if you do.

Our '64 has the VIN stamped on the tongue too, but you're right A8108 doesn't seem to fit. Ours is right up against the body on the curbside part of the "A-frame".

I think I have read somewhere that it might be on the axle somewhere...maybe someone else can confirm this.

I'm surprised your trailer doesn't have the Caravel plate by the door...that's usually where the VIN # is stamped.

My serial number is on the nameplate next to the door. That's what's used as a VIN on the title.

Thanks, the plate has been removed from the curb side, I think the A8180 may be the end of the VIN# as the propane tank holder looks to have been located a little more forward and possibly covered the first part of the VIN# just don't what the "A" could stand for the interior had been gutted have not looked at the axle yet but will thanks!
