Another leak, bathroom 2017 25FB

Not sure if the video loaded correctly but looking for some help to see where this leak may be coming from. When it first leaked a couple months ago, the dealership sealed up the vent fans on both sides. It only leaks when it really, really downpours. Almost as if the water is pooling somewhere. Any ideas? Thanks y'all!

Hm. I dunno. I have a 25fb and one time.. just once... I found drops after a rain on the floor under that very spot. Course, I had left the fan vent open... so I assumed it was that. Now I gotta keep an eye out. Cause that ain't good. Mildew and mold grow quick.

In a downpour I found that maybe 10 drops had dropped. Previously I had seen a small telltale drip mark and nothing more.

Sounds like a gasket leak within the fan /vent itself.

Tagging into this thread as well, though I wish I was offering a solution.

We had this exact leak form after a massive hail/rainstorm in Idaho a few weeks ago. One thing I did notice was that I also had water drop down directly from the fan when it was turned on during our investigation, leading us to think there was a pooling issue as well.

We were planning to go up top and look at the sealant around that vent the next time we got the trailer back from storage, but it sounds like your dealer already looked at that possibility.

I would check the seal job they performed. I would also look in at least a 4 foot radius from where the leak appears inside. Is it sitting in a level position? If you have the tongue a little high then it could be coming from a more forward location on the roof. Then it finds the path of least resistance which could be far away from the real problem. Unfortunately they say it's built like a Aircraft when it's really not. We seal all our seams before riveting together. When you do that properly then you won't get water intrusion anywhere even at 400 kts.

We had a similar leak in the same area. Turns out it was where the solar wiring entered the top.
Suggest the dealer pressurized leak test. $200 but well worth it to find all the leaks before they can cause real damage. T

We have also Flying Cloud 2017 25FB and this post and video describes exactly what is happening to us at the same spot in the bathroom, it really needs to downpours for the leak to show, we are on the road at the moment, any suggestions apart from the ones in these thread?

Thanks,

I also have a the same leak. I believe it may be from condensation. The fan blades drip. There are water droplets on the top edge above the roofline. I resealed is the screws on the vent cover which did not help. I plan to reseal the fan and plumbing vents to see if that makes any difference.

- Get a ladder.
- Get a water hose with a nozzle to turn water on or off.
- Get on top of your Airstream. (Place your feet on the riveted seams.)
- Turn on water. Dump a five gallon bucket of water if the hose is not enough.
- Have someone standing inside to notice first sign of water.
- Narrow down where you apply water, moving water supply (Water flows downhill, not uphill.)

- Repeat if necessary.

- If confused, narrow down where you apply water stream. Ask a neighbor who may be handy.

Appears to be the vent to the shower is the source. If not, go... upstream...

Water is flowing down the inside skin from a higher point. The fiber glass insulation is absorbing water. Eventually it will begin to mold. Then you may have worse problems than a minor, but persistent leak. This inner space may never dry out.

When you narrow down where the water enters the area between the exterior and the interior... figure out what needs to be caulked, taped or whatever you find useful and permanent.

If you are unable to figure it out. Hire a plumber. They understand the limited ability of water to flow up, unless under pressure.

Take it to a RV Dealer. Pay them to do this. Make sure you test the source of the water while there at the Dealership. Read their warranty posted on the WALL, before you spend one cent.

Good luck. When you discover the source of the water. Post it.

It.can be anything: a seam or rivet, a running light, an awning/awning pole, window, fan, vent, antenna, solar or antenna wire, or esp. The air conditioner around the gasket. And dont forget windows.

Sewer vents are often overlooked.

I just came down from my roof attempting to fix this leak. There are eight screws that hold the fan vents in place. These eight screws are also in the condensation channel that drains out to the roof through a hole on the low side of the vent. I removed those screws, put a drip of caulk around each screw hole and put the screws back in. I also put a dab of caulk under the two screws that hold the vent top in place. And put more caulk around the plumbing vents making a smooth angle to the roof. There were channels from the original caulk where water could pool.

Hopefully this will fix the leak. I just don’t see any other places where it could leak and still believe it’s from condensation. I tested the repair with water and saw no leaks.

I will report back the results after more cold condesating days or rainy days.

I had the same problem found it to be vent pipe bushing had slip out of place. When it rain hard & wind blew it in vent. Remove it put bushing in right place caulk everything up good.
I found it by pouring water down vent out it came on floor. I removed the other vent and the bushing out of place also.
