As promised, here is a picture of the power centre I built for the Airstream. The power converter/ charger sits inside.Click image for larger version

Now that the floor has been re-repaired using Starboard, I’m warming up the linoleum flooring I rough cut while the shell was still off.

Here’s the final roll out without any trimming. The wrinkles are from being rolled up for the last 5 years. Once the flooring has had a chance to relax a bit I’ll do any fine trimming if required.

For the record, the AC side of the power centre has a cover on it when installed to prevent any accidents.

Finally got the deadbolt replaced. I shortened the actual deadbolt so it would be flush on extension. Then I welded a 3/8” diameter rod to it. This solved the problem where the PO cut a large hole for the previous deadbolt through the side of the door weakening it to the point of failure. Had to take the door to the welders to get it welded and reinforced before I could start the job. Unfortunately I don’t have the skills or equipment to weld aluminum.Click image for larger version

Got some more bulkheads cut out. Once the first one is cut to size and shape the rest are easy using the router with the first as a template. Now if only I could find some decent plywood for the last 2 required. Any I could find has been priced astronomically by the COVID induced supply shortage.

Inside edge. You can see where the repair was made. The previous hole was so large the the extrusion had broken in 2 and was being held together by the sheet aluminum. Lots of welding, grinding and more welding to get it back to where it needed to be.

Today’s session was to install the retaining brackets for the drop down dinette table. Bought the hardware from VTS. Problem was that the retaining brackets had to be mounted on top of the screen window frame but had to remain removable. After pilot holes were drilled, I broke out my rivnut tool. With the appropriate size hole I inserted the rivnut.

After squeezing the handle, you can see how the rivnut expands around the hole.

Because the lower holes of the bracket were below the frame, I cut drilled then riveted a 1/8” bar just under the frame. Since the bar could remain, I drilled and tapped the holes for the screws.

Although not common, the rivnut is quite handy for mounting items to the inside to the Airstream that need to the be screwed off and on again.

Folded in the down position just in case an extra bed is needed.
Luckily it’s just the 2 of us. Kids are all grown and on their own.
