amazing DIY camping gadgets

I like it. My front plexiglass gaskets touch the shell … occasionally. 🙄
Did you glue it in place or is it friction fit?

I originally used water pipe insulation.
Last season I switched to 'Pool Noodles'.
The pipe insulation lasted several years, the noodles may last a bit longer, we'll see.
No glue, just split and apply.

Me too. I have used pipe insulation for all kinds of other stuff as well.

He added pipe insulation (or a pool noodle) over the upper weather stripping on the rock shield to close the open gap that allows junk to get between the window and the rock guard.
Pretty good idea - I just opened mine this year and cleaned out and was stunned how much junk gets behind them ... and I was the trailer every week!

I thought that this was a great idea so I bought some of the pipe insulation and tried it. I cannot get the window rock guard to close with the additional insulation on it. I even tried having someone push on the curved part while I attempted to get the locking screws engaged. Did not work. How did you get yours to close?
