Airstream Repair Shops in Western WA

Hi-
I have a 1975 Tradewind that need some minor work. A/C needs to be charged, Fridge is having trouble running on propane. Seals in holding tanks need to be replaced.
Can anyone recommend a good repair shop in Western WA for these issues? I called the dealership and they didn't want to do most of the work since it is an older model.
Thanks!

No offense, but none of the items mentioned sound minor: they have "replace" written
all over them for a coach of that age. Sorry, I have no info as to a good mechanic on
your side of the pond. When we're up here, we use Eric's R.V. in Sequim, not sure they
do trailers, though. 800.488.3697. Good luck.

I've had good luck with Evergreen RV in Lynnwood ("evergreenrv.com")

Keep in mind that when you use a non Airstream dealer, they cannot buy parts from Airstream and must go through a dealer. That usually means the parts will cost you more money.

Or, they could substitute generic parts, which takes that repair out of the Airstream family.

Ask for a ball park estimate, before work is started, always helps.

Many owners on this site can tell you if thats an "ok" price.

Most of the issues sound pretty straight forward. DO NOT let them talk you into replacing the A/C unit. If you still have the original BayBreeze it is built like a tank and can be repaired and recharged...unlike the newer throwaway units. I have mine done by a guy that specializes in commercial refrigeration units.

Even tanks need to be upgraded.

No doubt. However I was told by a local RV dealer that my Bay Breeze unit was "bad" and needed a $700 replacement unit. In reality all it needed was a $35 capacitor. That $665 will a long ways towards replacing things that really need to be replaced...like plumbing, converter, axles, tires, shocks and the like. If you don't know how to fix something and are an uniformed consumer you will end up spending money on things that aren't really necessary. There are very few repairable products available anymore, the Bay Breeze fortunately is one of them. As are Airstreams, I have been messing with RV's and repairs for quite some time and have yet to find too many units that can take the outright abuse that some Airstreams do and still be functional. Too many repair people are untrained and their answer to anything they don't understand is to either refuse to work on it because it is too old and they don't make parts for those anymore, or replace something because they don't know how to fix it and refuse to admit to their limitations and the fact they are ignorant of that particular product.
