Airstream Repair/Renovations Maryland

Hi everyone,

We have been dreaming about Airstream life for the past several years, but now finally seem to be in a place in our lives where we could make this dream a reality. We've been spending the last several weeks researching - both on the airstream forums and google. We really like the idea of renovating an older airstream from the 70s or 80s (1984 would be super cool since that is when we were both born!) But, after reading about renovations, we're unsure if we have the skills to do any floor, frame or body work. Basically, we'd want to do it right if we do it at all. As a result, we're wondering if anyone knows of someone nearish Baltimore, MD, who has experience inspecting and/or renovating trailers? Any recommendations on shops and/or individuals would be super helpful! We've tried searching through the forums for local folks who may be inspectors, but it is unclear if anyone local has been active on the site for some time.

Our goal would be to be in airstream full-time by next September, so we'd have some time!

Thanks in advance!
Kara

Look up the WDCU WBCCI. You might find someone local who could help.

I can fix my own but don't have enough experience to do an inspection for someone...

Welcome to the Forums!

Frank's Trailer Works is in Maryland. Frank was a contributor to the Vintage Airstream Podcast for a while, and was active on the Forums as well. Haven't seen any activity from him lately, so either he is very busy, or moved on. At any rate, you might try and track him down.

good luck!

Well, out of curiosity, I poked around and discovered that Frank has gotten out of the trailer business, so disregard the above.

Thanks for tips! We'll keep looking around the internet to see what we can find.

Hi there, I’m just outside Annapolis and looking for someone to help refurbish our 1964 Caravelle. Found this old thread so I thought I’d post to see if you had any joy finding someone.
Thanks!
