Our Safari Airstream Is Missing Most Of The Airstream Name Decals On The Front & Back. Any Suggestions To Where To Find These - Also Best Place & Price For Cleaning, Polishing Supplies?
Thanks For Any Response. We Are Total Newbies - Have Been Reading All Of The Forums And Getting A Lot Of Good Info & Help. Is There A Special Forum Area For Getting And Attaching New Decals?
Try VintageTrailerSupply.com for polishing supplies. They have a lot of aftermarket parts too.
Your decals will probably have to come from an Airstream dealer. I recommend Rod at C&G Trailer in Bellflower, CA, CGTrailer.com. His number is 800 662-3790.
Polishing what? How is your clearcoat -- an eventual weak point with any Airstream. It is said any Airstream can be polished but recent years models have a significant amount of surface texture. The high-maintenance shiny vintage jobs originally had different skins entirely -- alclad. Maybe somebody has the last year alclad was used. I'd guess 1970s.
Airstream still has many of the 80s, 90s and 00s lettering widely available. A member was at Jackson Center, I think it was 2Air and he posted pics of the lettering offered. I seem to recall the pic and seeing at least 20 different types of Airstream decals, lettering and model names.
Contact the factory, they can get you hooked up with the part you need, though they may require you to order it through a dealer.
Silvertwinkie is right - Airstream in Jackson Center has decals, striping, lettering, and even some of the aluminum and pot metal name plates going back into the late sixties/early seventies. They will sell it to you direct; call the Airstream store or parts, and they'll let you order over the phone.
