I'm starting to dig into my 67 Overlander. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE this forum, but it sure would be nice to see first hand/in person how someone else's project is going and to share ideas. I will say, this forum has been an AWESOME experience in the many questions I've already had

Most areas have AS clubs. That might be a good start.

I'm in the Houston Heights. Two years into a shell-off. I'm in the aluminum tent stage now.

Just started my complete overhaul on my 73 sovereign. Removed everything in the inside. Going to replace the deck in the next couple of days then the plumbing. Any tips would help.

Opportunity for Mensal Aluminum Dose

If anyone near East Texas needs a monthly Airstream fix, an opportunity exists right on the banks of Lake Sam Rayburn (between Lufkin and Jasper, about 30 miles West of Toledo Bend).

The WBCCI Gulf Coast Unit has monthly meetings at the Texas Airstream Harbor (TAHI) - pronounced Tay-High.

Texas Airstream Harbor: Texas Airstream Harbor, Inc.

There are many Vintage Trailers and owners on the premises, and most of the members can answer a myriad of questions on new and vintage trailers.

PM me if you would desire additional information.

I know where that is in Zavalla. To the left before you cross the bridge. My hunting.fishing club was out toward Caney Creek Park. Do you allow overnite parking?

Overnight (Airstream only) $15

For sure - $15 a night - monthly storage and camping can be arranged.

Purchase a lot and erect a cover - yearly lot assessment is $400 - this includes everything (including taxes) with the exception of electricity. TAHI is a gated community - some of the cheapest storage in the nation.

I'm redoing a '75 in Simonton, just west of Katy. There is also a guy in Old Katy who always has a shell-off restoration or two going on beside his house. I haven't met him, but roll by there whenever I'm in town to see what is new... Hopefully someday I'll catch him outside! I've been working on mine for the past year (along with restoring a vintage tow vehicle to match!), and just got it close enough to done for its maiden voyage; the wife and I went and 'driveway camped' in Austin for the family Christmas gathering. I don't consider myself an expert by any means, but would be happy to get together and talk shop when time allows. Perhaps we could both learn something!
