Acryl-R Applicator ... Source?
I'm sure I've seen references in the forums to online sources for the aryl-R applicator sold by the Airstream Store for 47.90 (which were out of stock as of our visit to JC last month).
I can't seem to find it using forum search...
Does anyone have links to an online source ... hopefully a little more reasonably priced than the Airstream Store??

It looks like they have them back in stock now (I was looking too). The one at the Airstream website for $47.90 comes with a can of Acryl-R too; Out-of-Doors Mart has just the applicator for $39.95 though.

Why use a gun?
If you use Parbond, you can bend the tip so that you can change the size of the bead.
You can't do that with a gun, and besides you still have to clean the gun, and you do not have to clean anything by using the tube.
The gun also does not guarantee a nice bead, since it depends on the movement of your hands, but same is true for the tube.
The only thing you gain buying the gun, is "spending money that is a waste", at least to me and my shop of many years.

I agree the Parbond is very nice to use. I tried it and then decided not to bother with the Acryl-R since it was easy to use and didn't require that applicator.

I bought the Parbond, but have not used it yet.... I've read feedback that says it hardens up and cracks quickly. I know I have had a hard time picking away what appears to be dried up remnants of something on mine- thought maybe that was what others were referring to. For that I have considered Acryl-R, but I see what Andy is saying....
Anyone have any input to confirm or deny?

Oh yeah, and someone else said they just use the vulkem (trempro, etc) for everything.
I like it, BUT.... I have a pesky seam that I was hoping to "wick" some sealant into. I've been chasing leaks forever, and I've been drilling out the rivets, packing in vulkem and re-riveting the seam back together, but that is time consuming and I'm beginning to feel like I'll be chasing those forever, and to just seal up the outside of the seam will save a ton of time.

I put some par bond on our AS right after we purchased, so it's 1-1/2 years old and still flexible.

Parbond does "NOT" harden or crack as you state.

The availability of Parbond seems to be limited. Only a couple of US online sites that I've found. Anyone have other sources?

Arsenal of sealants
If you're handy with a calking gun, Acryl-R comes in a calk gun tube.
If you're handy with a syringe, filling from the calk tube is clean and easy.
An IV Blunt needle flows Acryl-R perfectly and really injects the sealant "in there".
Little clean-up, no waste, inexpensive, preservable.

Has anyone tried filling a syringe from a can of aryl-R? Can it be sucked up into the syringe through the blunt needle, or is it too viscous?

Does the Acryl-R have the consistency of a gummy worm when it is dry?

With the 50 cent throw-aways, you might pull the plunger shaft out of the rubber seal. There should be available a draw type syringe that is designed to pull fluid through the needle. Maybe a dental irrigation type? Veterinarians have feeding syringes?

It wicks well, then gets a durable, dirt resistant skin, but remains flexible.
