AC not cool

My AC is running, but blowing air just slightly cooler (or possibly the same temp) than the outside temp. Thermostat seems to work. It clicked off at night when it cooled naturally and clicked back on when temp came up. Where should I start?

First you have to determine if the compressor is in fact running. The easiest way, if you can not hear it come on, is with an amp meter. Measure the current while the fan is on and then when the unit is calling for cooling.

If the compressor is working and not cooling I suspect you have lost the gas charge in the unit.

Hi, I would start with sticking a thermometer in the A/C vent; Mine goes down to about 40 degrees.
