AC Drain Pan

I have a 1988 excella 1000 27' and need advice on where to find a drain pan for a model 6759E717 Coleman roof top ac unit. If unable to find a pan, what type epoxy will be strong enough to make drain pan repair where drain line connects. Someone, probably the installer, used rubber sealant to secure the fitting after making the fitting hole twice as big as needed. Instead of draining out the hose, it drains to the floor of the trailer.

To my knowledge, the only Airstream specific drainpans were made for the Dometic Penguin AC units. You might still be able to find them at Outofdoorsmart.com, which is where I bought one a couple years back. It could be that other models of AC are similar enough to the the foot print and condensate drain holes of a Penguin that the pan works with other models as well. I have no idea. This could be part of your problem.

The pan I have also came from the factory with a large amount of goopy looking caulking attaching the condensate drain tube to the pan. Not sure what it is--just looks like latex caulk to me.

There has been a move away from the drain pans in recent years, towards condensate "cups." These look like a couple of cup shaped receptacles that fasten underneath the AC where the condensate drains out, and they are plumbed together with clear hoses that penetrate the foam gasket that the AC is mounted on. I think they are also available from Outofdoorsmart.com and others.

I used JB Weld, its an epoxy 2 part. I was able to seal the drain line connector to the pan. I did 2 thin applications to insure a good seal. BTW, I also used the JB Weld to seal my water tank at the drain also. Very good product.

Thanks for both responses. Who ever put the drain fitting on the tank really made a large hole in it , almost as large as the entire end. Then they gooped it up. I will try rebuilding the drain hole with jb weld and see what happens.
