A few questions and some remodel ideas

Hi I am new to airstreaming. I have just purchased a 34' AS with slide out that I would like to customize with adding a 2000 gallon holding tank and be able to carry a sand rail on the back. Do you think the OEM weight specifications would be exceeded.

Do you think a family of 12 can live comfortably in this size AS for extended trips? Did I mention we have 8 cats and a pet gopher. Also we would like to boondock all the time, so can a standard deep cycle battery run my wife's hair dryer plugged into the wall? What about a TV? What is the difference between AC and DC?

Also, my tow vehicle is a 1968 VW beetle (we are a family of circus clowns). I have heard that hensley hitches let you tow anything. So I nailed a 2x4 board onto the back bumper for a receiver. Is this safe, do you think I can tow at 85mph in the rockys down hill?

Is it just me?

Insomnia sucks. Just getting a kick out of some of the postings. Not trying to be mean or anything, but holy cow, there are some bizarre questions.

Did you see this one
outlandish restomod planned

Then the jeep wrangler tow question. If you are going to ask, and then you get a legit answer, and then go off on some tangent, why ask in the first place?

400 miles on rough road, stuff is going to break. Plan on it. Hell things break on my rig all the time just on normal use on smooth roads. Plastic ages, metal fatigues, appliances wear out.

Then there was this one

Those were some major questions mixed in with the mundane, how do you even respond, I guess you don't.

"outlandish restomod"

Out of the ordinary, absolutey. Different...of course. Red neck...I'm sure of it. But very doable if the right people are willing to help by putting forth factual statements based on actual experience and knowledege.

Perhaps that post would have been better in the floor/frame section. My bad.

To those who are willing to help constructively I graciously thank you.

elolson,
Do you have something constructive to add, or perhaps ridicule is your game?
