'71 Air conditioner problem

The original Armstrong air conditioner on our 23 foot Safari cools good for about an hour. Then it trips a breaker and quits. Any ideas what causes this and how to fix it?

Could be several things. I'd look a the breaker first. They do go bad. I would swap the AC breaker with another of the same rating and try that first. I have a good friend with a 67 Overlander who had the same issue recently and it was the breaker. If that doesn't fix the problem, then you will need to get the ladder out and head to the AC. There are many threads here on the forums that you can research on checking the start and run capacitors and the relays. Since it is working for a while, hopefully the problem is just a simple (and relatively inexpensive) electrical component.
