Eastern South Dakota is very pretty with hills, rivers, and trees.

Well fellas thank all of you for your helpful advice. I went to look at that 30 ft classic and it was a REAL big project. It appears to have been wrecked or flooded like Splitrock suggested. The water line was high on the furniture and a lll the carpet was molded. The front end cap and the back end cap looked as if somebody had tried to install but it was not a professional job. I found a person who could help me out with the inspection but the seller din't want to wait so I walked away from his deal. Anyway thanks again for all the advice from all you guys and we will keep on looking since my wife is dead set on an airstream.

Good move walking away - there'll be another. A real estate agent told me once that everyone gets the house they're destined for...I think it's true of Airstreams too. I generally don't like resorting to fate but I have to admit for both our house and our Airstream it worked out perfectly.

For comparison on the price (moot point, I know): We paid $15K for a 1995 30' trailer last year.

Barber,
Good move!
My wife was dead set on an airstream about 10 years ago. We traveled 10's of thousand of miles looking at prospective airstreams, all needed new frames and floor, and the asking price was very high.
At one point I thought if I didn't buy her a airstream we were headed for divorce.
Be patient, Study all the ins and outs of airstreams on this forum. Then you will know when you find the one you want, or you find the one at a price you can put time and money to make the airstream of your dreams.
One good thing about buying a fixer upper you know what you have when you get through. You will not be guessing IF that 30 year old trailer will make that 2000 mile trip.
good luck

Used Airstreams seem to fit two categories: pre-loved and pre-destroyed.

The Classic - destroyed.
The Excella - loved!

DAMN: I want it, I want it, I want it! LOL. Didn't know they made a 23 Excella and I love the dual flip lounge couches vs. the beds which are unusable for anything but sleeping. No dual use.

Now, how can I sell the three I have now, fast?

Where the heck is it anyway? The CL listings are local of course..

Splitrock, this is all your fault, remind me never to speak to you.
