2006 Classic Step Light

When I switch on the step light it pops a 12v breaker. I tried cleaning the bulb socket with no luck so I ordered the new light fixture.

Just received the new fixture today and it appears to have been opened and repackaged before shipping. Should there have been a gasket with the fixture or does it screw on metal to metal and caulk to seal?

Mine has no gasket. Looks like Acryl-r sealed. But I'd use Parbond if I replaced mine.

Great thanks. My trailer is in storage 30 miles away but it also looked like it just had a bead of Acryl-r around it.

Just curious as to where you were able to find the step light ? I really only need the replacement lens which is yellow and cracked but could buy entire light if needed.
Thank you !
