19FC and others upper refer door/vent leak

After washing my trailer the other day I looked inside the lower exterior refer grill and was a bit surprised to find water on the floor/base that had come from the upper grill. Due to the shell curve this door frame is canted inward and the inner angle that would stop the water is cut away presumably because it is the same frame as used for lower door that needs the cutaway to allow propane to drain out should there be a leak.
I cut a small piece of aluminium and slid it in behind the frame and caulked in place where the cut away section is.
Sorry for poor picture quality, my iphone camera lens needs cleaning. lol
Anyway check yours and I bet the same conditions exist on all the trailers that dont have full height refers and use this upper door/vent/grill.
