I think Dexter considers vintage Airstream axle orders low volume specials. My local Dexter dealer said you spec them, and you buy them, no refunds. Dexter has an order sheet I was asked to fill out once I measured up my axles. I think the shock mounts are welded on the swing arms by "others", not Dexter.
I needed help. I do have new axles on order for my 75 Overlander. Luke helped me with the specs and order.
Maybe Colin Hyde, Inland RV, Silver Trailer Supply, or Luke's Maintenance in Colorado would be a big help to you. These folks know vintage Airstreams and know the specs that Dexter needs to fabricate an axle that will work.
You will need to know the gross vehicle weight (GVWR) of your trailer. It is on the tag on the exterior somewhere. That is a starting point. There may be a readable tag on the axles themselves that would give the weight rating of the axle. I'm guessing it is in the 2600 pound range. That is useful too.
My advice, call one of the vintage Airstream axle dealers and get some help with the Dexter order.
David
