1972 Safari bathroom vent

In need of a little clarification...

The original bath vent was positioned beside the toilet on the back wall. We are remodeling and looking for the best position for the vent.

I always thought the vent was for moisture so it would make more sense to put it closer to the shower? Or is the vent more for smell?

FYI our camper was originally an all in one shower/toilet/sink combo. We since separated it. The old vent ran along the back wall and out through the floor. I plan to reuse that same hole to exhaust.

I have a 1968 Globetrotter and the vent switch is to left of the toilet on the wall. It was designed to vent odor. It's easily accessible under the sink if you need to replace the motor. The motor is still sold through boat suppliers.

The bathroom vent on my '74 Sov is in the ceiling, and is not powered.

The smaller fan with the toggle switch near the toilet is, as already mentioned, for odour exhausting.

It makes sense thst it is for removing oder based on its original location.

my 74 safari 79 ambass and my 76 all had the roof vent and they WERE a power vent! you pushed it up and the fan would come on! anything we had from the 60s had that lower one and we called it the fart fan LOL

Yes, there were fans available when purchasing new, and any of the vents could have them installed during manufacture of the TT.

Ours has a powered fan over the lounge, but the other vents in our '74 Sov are passive. There are third-party fan makers that can be installed fairly easily if you are handy with tools, or your dealer/repair depot can put them in for you.
