1972 Ambassador Height / Clearance
I apologize if this is in the wrong subforum. You guys have like a million really specific subforums, but none really seemed to fit the bill for my question, and searching didn't help.
Side note... A handful of you may know my mom and dad, Jake and Diane. Jake is the former president of the Palmetto State South Carolina Unit, Region #3, Unit #22, based out of Palmetto Cove near Ceasar's Head, SC.
Next week, I am driving 4 hours to look at a 1972 Airstream Ambassador International 29ft. If it is as described, I will definitely bring it home. Problem is, I have a low carport in the middle of my driveway. If it were higher, I could back the trailer through to the backyard. I can't leave it on the street for any length of time, so I have to have the carport raised NOW. I am not able to measure the height of the trailer at this time. It is in storage on private corporate property where none of my friends can get to it, and the owners live as far away as I do.
I cannot find any data on height or bridge clearance. As far as I have been told, AC is original, so the shroud shouldn't be any higher than when it left the factory. So if I could just get a rough estimate, I can add a margin of error and get this carport lifted this week.
Also, a question for those who know this particular model... I was told that the "rear couch" was converted to a "standard double bed". That being the case, is it even going to be possible to reach the bathroom without crawling over the bed?
