1968 Ambassador Phase 1 renovation

hey there,
just joined the airforums in hopes of gaining knowledge, information, tips, recommendations, and anything to help get me started in the right direction. I have a 1968 airstream ambassador 28' that I plan on renovating in phases due to financing and work time. I also made the rookie mistake of buying an airstream with the dreaded rear separation, on that note, my plan for phase one consist of fixing the rear separation and redoing the bathroom after the separation issue is fixed. I also plan to do this work myself and with the help of friends, so I have a few questions...


Does anyone have a step by step fix for the separation?
-I know(really I don't know which is why I'm asking for help from fellow airstreamers) I'll have to gut the bathroom, rip up the floor, repair any frame damage, somehow weld it back together
- just writing this out I'm feeling nervous to start anything without being better informed, please help me make my vintage airstream the home of my dreams

Welcome to the forum. I don't have what you are looking for. I have been reading the forum everyday to learn about all kinds of AS knowledge. So I would add that process to your project. Lots of relevant information that you can pickup. You can also search for the separation issue and find threads about it too.
