2nd trip in the Overlander.

We just came back from our second camping trip in the Overlander. We are hoping to get in one last trip before winterizing the camper.

It was an awesome trip. The propane systems are now up and running. We had them pressure tested on friday. Everything worked. Belly pan is also done.

We had a few visitors this weekend. We also got to see a gorgeous Canadian made Airstream, one of only 40 ever made. It was a Allumacoach made in BC.

Take a bow! Great looking Overlander. You folks have done just a lot of work bringing the old girl back on the road. Enjoy, and safe travels.

My Overlander is still on jack stands with no axles, no belly pan, no bathroom, no beds, no gaucho, no galley, and a few other missing parts. Oh well, in due time.

Well done. Like the interior color choice. Those of us still on blocks can look to this for motivation.

Thanks Joyflea for correcting my photo and thanks everyone for all the kind words.

Jeremy and David , I really look forward to seeing your progress.

We have finally found an apraiser in our area. It wasen't looking very promissing at first. Two apraisers didn't even want to take us on and the last one had to do some research before taking us. We also ran into a bit of a challenge for insurance but everything is now sorted out.

We want to try and squeeze out one last camping trip before winterizing. So far the weather has been cooperating.

Cabinet work continues and winterizing

I am a bit sad today. Our camper has been put to bed. It is now fully winterized and stored in the shelter.

Good news is that the windows don't leak anymore! We added some weather stripping to the gaps between the window and frame. They are now sealed .

Lower cabinets are stained. We still have some work to do but it will have to wait until all the other work around the house gets done.

Upper cabinet doors are in!

Hi
We are finally close to the end of our indoor restauration. The upper cabinet doors are in and I really like them!

Sorry for the sore neck, I don't know how to rotate the photos.

Your new cabinets look wonderful. The expanded metal inserts in those overhead doors are great.

We are contemplating rebuilding the cabinets across from the galley sink and stove. We may install a smaller fridge with a microwave on top of it. Airstream built cabinets to the height of the fridge and left about a 7" shelf between the cabinets and the overheads, shown on the left side of this photo. Wasted space in my view, and it doesn't look very good either. But I am uncertain I can fabricate a nice cabinet with three doors. I guess I'll never know until I try.

Your Airstream looks great inside.

David

PS: Someone wiser than me suggested "phone photos" need to be "cropped" to a smaller size and then they will rotate north south automatically when uploaded. I don't know how to do this.

Very nice cabinet work. I like the metal grill work. This might even save a little weight. Is it aluminum? Nice sky light too.

My guess on the photo problem is that the longest dimension seems to go on the horizontal.

We are real happy with the cabinets, even my husband who grumbled that I always complicate things for him lol. The inserts are alluminum. We got one sheet for free from a friend , it was an order return so instead of throwing it out she gave it to us. We bought a second sheet from her store. The sky light is the original astro dome with some polish.

Update on the final touches

We are pretty much done for interior. The last items are window treatments. Mini blinds have been ordered and I found a great set of curtains at a bargain price. They will need to be shortened but they look good. Hubby is currently working on pantry shelving.

Oh boy the winter is long! Can't wait to go camping

Finishing touches inside

Time for some updates. Cabinet doors have "stay open" latches. We have a new cherry wood bathroom door. We have new mini blinds. Curtains have been sent to be shortened. We also now have a new shower rod. Closets and pantry are also done.
