I went over to your thread and started following along, you are doing great work. I guess we are in a race to finish by summer time.

Thank you. I would have finished last year but the Lord spoke a word to me about "enlarging my tent" - Isaiah 54:2. I was hoping that meant the argosy but after much prayer I started and finished a 600 sq ft buildout on my house. Since then we have had a constant flow of people staying in the new suite with a new bathroom but I do believe this is the year to complete the trailer. Love your thread and the progress.

It has been a while since the last update. We are ready to start the plumbing and the bathroom. All interior skins are back on. They will need to be polished (check out the interior door skin photo, they shin up nice

). The end cap needs to be painted. All the wiring and insulation is done. We were extremely happy to find a local locksmith to key our Bargman lock. We have also ordered a new deadbolt from Airstream supply (not sure that I trust a 50 year old lock completely

)

Here is a quick update, my husband is doing the final pass on the interior skins. They have shined up real nice! It has been about 4 weeks (working nights and Saturdays) to get a nice shine. I will now start to help with the waxing.

The next few weeks should bring big changes. Fooring first then I will start painting the bulkhead while my husband starts the bathroom.

It is feeling like the never ending project. We had hoped to use it this summer . It is looking like it will be late summer and fall instead

Quick progress update: interior skins are stripped shined and polished. We added a coat of wax for extra protection. The floors are in now and I have started painting the bathroom. We are picking up our front end couch tomorrow. We got a great deal on it.

Making progress; good progress after those interior skins were completed. That's a big job. Maybe you'll get done this summer after all. I know I won't finish mine.

Sorry to hear you won't be done this summer. We are really pushing to be done by August. We ordered the stove and fridge today. The couch is going in tonight. Can't wait to see your final result. Keep at it and best of luck!

We did glue ours down. I hope we don't regret it later. I almost regret it now! My husband used my kitchen rolling pin to get the air pockets out. Now it is full of aluminum oxide. That stuff is everywhere!!!

Hi Jeremy
The interior skins (on a 1967 trailer) shine up just like the exterior skins. It is very hard on back and arms. You are pushing up on the polisher instead of pushing against or down.

It is the same 3 step process to shine them up plus striping the vinyl. We used super striper to remove the vinyl (after we removed them). I can supply more details if you want to attempt it.

We stripped our vinyl off using Jasco followed by Klean Strip paint stripper but there are still some stubborn adhesive areas that are proving quite difficult. Wondering if your Super stripper would work on that.

Hi Jeremy according to my husband, just keep adding stripper until they are clean. He had to go over some spots 3 times or more.

Jasco and Clean strip is probably stronger than what we used. Super striper was the best available to us in Canada. You can try covering the area where you applying the stipper with aluminum foil. This technique was hit and miss on effectiveness but it can't hurt to try

The bathroom looks like new. My husband sprayed the last pieces yesterday. It looks pretty good! I wish it were a bit more blue but the paint and finish looks great. Can't wait to install everything in the trailer

I wish I had spray painting skills like that. I had to hire mine out. They turned out just fine.

You asked about what I used on my shower walls to repel water. I purchased some FRP (fiberglass reinforced plastic) at a big box store. It is thin stuff at about 1/16 inch thick. It is glued to a backing wall like plywood with a special FRP adhesive. It comes in various shapes and colors. Folks use the stuff when making a new shower stall in the home. Here is a photo of a shower stall I made in my last Airstream project. Maybe this stuff would work for you.
