1967 Caravel Refrigerator Replacement

We took our Caravel to a local dealership here in Cheyenne to replace the refrigerator. Unfortunately they ran into multiple problems. The original refrigerator is a Dometic M28a and we planned to replace it with a Norcold N305. Looking at the dimensions, it looks like it should fit. They say the problem is the back of the new frig hits the wheel well. After some research I found a very informative article on VintageAirstream http://vintageairstream.com/refriger...cement-repair/ where they place the new frig on shims and extend it out about an 1 ½” by the door. Hopefully this will work in our case.

Their other concern was the ventilation of the frig. They say the ventilation of the new frig is on the side that is by the door. They thought the new Dometic replacement would vent the same way. Does anyone have a solution for this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Debbie
