Thanks guys.
Yes, the damage is very small but the only way to get it back to 5 month new is to replace the panels.....and never make the same mistake again....I'm going to remove the small fence!

time and money

I know that it seems like a long way to take your baby in order to have the repairs done.

Just a few quick thoughts:

7 hrs x 4 trips is only 28 hours. just a little over 1 day in the life of your new baby.
441 miles x4 is 1764 mi @ $3 a gal is about $550. in fuel
Eats are in addition., but that could be done for less than $400.

So for less than $1000 and 2 weekends you could get your baby looking like new with a repair shop that will do a good job.

Should be very little frustration due to their good business practices. If you use the one closest to you and they don't do a great job, just think of the stress and frustration every time you look at her not brought back to A1 shape.

Good luck in what ever you decide to get done.

Kay

I thought by going to Manteca for some SIMPLE repairs would be OK. I mean, how can they screw up a replacement head for the tongue jack and a sensor? They did. In fact, they put the new head on sideways, scratching the LP cover!! They wound up just taking a unit from a new model to placate me. The service clown had NO idea how to do anything. I was the one that finally put the motor on correctly and calibrated it. I asked him why he didn't and he said there were no instructions!! He did calibrate the holding tank and sent me on my merry way with a full black tank. Glad I checked (he said he just wanted to show me it worked). The black tank sensor had been replaced once before so he just pulled the tape off the hole in the belly. He didn't even bother to put on new tape. I just finished doing the repair the right way. So much for saving me time and fuel and not taking it to Toscanos. Never again.

A little follow up .......

I tried to get a price quote for our auto insurance today (not even for our trailer).......
The agent told me I have a point on my driving record from this "accident"!!!!

I had no idea this would happen....I guess you're a newbie for a very long time!
Only two more years and the point will be gone.

That's another story in another thread.....
I ended up taking it to Toscano and traded it in for a 2008 27FB CDD!
The insurance company paid them to fix the "old" trailer.

Hi, I guess that's one way to make your trailer look as good as new again.

Was that an insurance point or a DMV point. I suspect an insurance point. I have 6 insurance points and no points on my DMV record.
I have learn a lot since I found out State Farm is dropping me after my last encounter with the police officer. His cruiser lost.

It seems there is a three year sliding window. However I have had two expensive accidents in the last two years. Neither which was my fault. State Farm has paid out $34,000 for this one and $34,000 for the last one.
I am now high risk.
