Source for brake parts?

Where can I get brake drums for my A/S? Also can anyone tell me what the backing plate and shoes brand is. Hays? It seems my drums are egg shaped, the magnets are worn completely down as well as the shoes. I'm glad I looked before going on vacation this summer.

Oh well, it's only money.

Let see if is this ans helps. Last July, I was visiting the A/S factory store and, they had the complete brake assy for something like 89$. All you had to do was pull the old ones off and, then install the new brake assy. As always, since you've got the wheels off at this point.. I'd go for repacking the wheel bearings grease as well. The only reason I mention this: I saw what happened to a nice couple's rear skin panel when the wheel locked up and, then damaged the skin when the wheel tore off. Ouch~~!

Thanks, I tried Inland RV today via the phone. The girl answering said she did not know what was going on and she would have someone call me. I left my number and am still waiting for that call. I tried their email route last time and still have not received an answer. I'm not trying to be critial but......

I can't be the first one to need brake drums. I have searched the internet but to no avail.

Brian. I was out of town, and have a new girl answering the phones.
Hopefully, the suggestions I gave you on the phone, will be beneficial, and save you some money as well.
Turning drums, done properly, are very serviceable.
However, some machine shops can only turn the drum, and not the armature plate. Andy

I found a Dexter dealer locally(Dexter is a wholesaler of truck and trailer parts) in Phoenix that supplied me with brake hardware and wheelbearings. The name of the company was Auto Safety House. They were very friendly, helpful, and inexpensive vs: a regular parts store. The parts I got were rated for the job and they did have brake drums however I did not need drums.

If you are interested find a Dexter dealer locally. (you can go on the net at Dexter.com) Or you contact Auto Safety House @ autosafetyhouse.com and get their 800#.

Here is a little Photo Montage of original versus new. All parts were purchased from a commercial trailer parts house in Houston,TX at excellent pricing. All parts are OEM to Airstream.

OEM Gabrial shocks came from BobJones RV for $25.00 each. Drums were turned and outside painted with high- temp brake paint. New bearings and seals were also installed. Check your Yellow-Pages.

Sure was fun going from rust-crusty to all new and shiny.
