Ford truck tow package (Navigator and Expedition count as trucks for this) includes the bigger receiver, 7-pin trailer connector, prewire for brake controller, bigger transmission cooler and oil cooler.
For a 7-pin connection to the trailer, in addition to the 4-pin wiring you need a line for braking voltage from the brake controller, 12v
supply for charging the trailer battery and a line for reverse lights. The 12v
supply and reverse light part is somewhat optional, I don't think reverse lights are required in any state but the big difference is the brake wire, and that's the least convenient to install.
