Question Prodigy Controller going from NC to C and back again, why?

i have been having trouble with my brakes , had to rewire everything because right as i was leaving on a trip (now) my pigtial seems to have died.

so i have temp trailer lights on the rig now and i just need to straight wire in my brakes.

i have wired then directly with 10ga wire one from the blue line to the brakes and one from the battery neg on my TV to the brakes.

and my controller kept saying NC (no contection) but every once in a while it would go over to C like it should and then back again??!!!

i just cleanen the conection with cleaner and put grease in it and now it is a tad better maybe, but seems to like to cycle betwen C and NC\\

what the hel is going on????

ps the controller is brand new, my wireing plug for it is just a few years old and my tires and brakes are just 5 years old or less

oh and when it does say C (conected) and i use the manual slide to test it, it does go up in numbers like ti should but then quickly goies to PL (power interruption) after it goes up, huh? not sure if this is about me puttingthe brakes on or if it was just going to switch over to CL and since i was using it right then, it did PL enstead

How new is the controller? Did it work properly before? If not could it be possible that some of the wiring is different than your previous controller?

Or how well did you clean the connectors. I had difficulty once and I literally had to scratch off some of the buildup on the connectors, not just clean.

Good luck.

You may have other issues as well. I had trailer brake magnets that were failing causing additional problems. You may need to pull the hubs and check the trailer brakes as well. Good luck...

I had corrosion on the plug where the wiring harness plugs into the Prodigy. It caused similar problems.

solution found, so far,,,

the amazing Brett helped me on a midnight call last night, we re-grounded the brakes to the trailer frame and we got the brakes working, it is still part time saying NC and we think that the brakes might be going thin so they are not giving the right feedback.

anyway i am going on my trip and right after ward i will redo the brakes, wish me luck, it should all work out,

i will update you all if i learn anything more
