Only a Few Brakesmart Controllers Remaining!
I tagged this on to existing thread, but thought it deserved its own:
In my search for a new master cylinder Tee for my Brakesmart controller, I stumbled upon these folks Transwest Truck Trailer RV They have all of the remaining stock of Brakesmart controllers, so I am told. There is a phone number at the bottom of the page. I called the Colorado store.
It is rumored that they might be produced again in the future, but if you want one, this could be your last chance.

Transwest is a great company. I was the parts manager at one of their locations and it was one of the best companies I worked for. Miss that team.

No more Brakesmarts?
Just called the folks. They do not have any controllers to fit Dodge RAMs.
Does anybody know who might still have these things?

I would assume the only thing unique to a given truck would be the TEE, different threads, that goes into the master cylinder. You should be able to by that at any good auto supply shop.
The unit and the wiring harness should all be the same.

Maybe a MaxBrake?
Well, it looks like the Brakesmarts are history, but I talked with Sean Woodruff (Pro-Pride Hitches) and he said the MaxBrake controller is virtually identical in design and performance. So maybe there is hope for us yet.

Apparently, they don't have the wiring harness to fit the Dodge, which is somehow unique.

The MaxBrake is the heir apparent. I have one and it's great. I can't think of any reason to cobble together a Brakesmart when there are MaxBrakes to be had in abundance.

Jammer might have a good point. I have never bothered to compare the capabilities of the Brakesmart vs. the MaxBrake. Perhaps they are identical. However, should the Brakesmart prove to be the better choice for some reason, the wiring harness would be the least of your worries. One end of it plugs into the Brakesmart, the other end is what is vehicle specific. If you already have a controller of some sort, you already have this end of the harness. It would be no different than wiring up any other electrically actuated controller (other than the brake pressure sensor).
The master cylinder Tee is more of a concern. I wasn’t able to find the one I needed for my late model Ford locally, since it is metric. But Transwest is the place that sold it to me, which is how I stumbled on these new units in the first place. I already had the Brakesmart, I just needed the Tee. If your master is S.A.E., the Tees are readily available. The guy who helped me was Tony at the Colorado site.
Best of luck.
