New axles and No brakes.

I just put on my new axles. Everything went swimmingly, except when I hooked up the trailer to the truck. The brake controller is not seeing the trailer. I also hooked up a new 7 wire harness at the front of the trailer. All of the trailer lights work properly.

Help!

THANKS EVERYONE.

My breakaway switch works. My brake controller is now seeing the trailer but it won't apply the brakes. Also it the controller won't adjust the gain. I have a Tekonsha Primus IQ

New question,

If everything was working properly, would the electric brakes still work if you removed the breakaway switch completely?

The breakaway switch is (should be) powered by the house battery.
The brake controller is powered by the TV. It controls the trailer brakes while towing.
If all exterior lights work it's a good bet that the common/ground connection between the TV and coach is good.
If you can't adjust the gain I would suspect the controller is not seeing the brake coils.
The wiring and connections need to be checked out.

No brakes

The wiring code of the new 7- pin plug is not the same as Airstream decides to wire theirs.Check plug diagram, then look at your trailer connections insid and see what doesn't match. The little wire to the solenoid third wire needs to be on the battery side of the solenoid or it won't have power to energize.

I decide to re-wire all the way back to the brakes and it worked first try.

I am sure there was a short somewhere between the junction box for the 7 pin connector and the brakes.

Thanks for all the help.
