Need to redo the brakes on my Tradewind

Can anyone recommend a good place to get the loaded brake linings? I am not an accomplished brake repairer, but I do OK. How long should I expect it to take to replace the brakes on 4 axles?

With loaded backing plates, you might spend about 45min to one hour per wheel.
Hopefully less...
A trailer shop in your area might be able to get your parts for you, or try one of the online suppliers.

before you replace brakes, you might check to make sure your axles are still good, ours weren't so we updated everything at once. It feels good knowing all running gear is new.

The following article will teach you how to check out your axles in just a couple of minutes.

Dura Torque Axle

Using your original hub and drums on a new axle, is not a good idea, since yours are known to be way out of balance, primarily because they are 2 piece.

For sometime now, hub and drums are "unicast." They still are not in true balance, but close to it.

The originals are usually way out of balance.

My axles are still OK right now. I still have a slight downward angle on them and they are not fused as all 4 passed the raising test by moving about 2-3 inches when removed from pressure. I would think I probably will need new axles in the not too distant future, but they will do for another 2-3 years I hope. Maybe my A/S budget will have a little more gusto then.

As long as you keep you eyes on your present axles, you will be fine.

The axles that fail quickly, are those used on the Caravel models from 1968 and older.

The rubber rods in the 73 and older trailers, regardless of length, will also fail in time.

The biggest cause of those failures is "lack of use."

The second cause is the composition of the rubber, that fails in time.

Keeping a watchful eye on yours is the best that you can do.
