As long as you keep you eyes on your present axles, you will be fine.
The axles that fail quickly, are those used on the
Caravel models from
1968 and older.
The rubber rods in the 73 and older trailers, regardless of length, will also fail in time.
The biggest cause of those failures is "lack of use."
The second cause is the composition of the rubber, that fails in time.
Keeping a watchful eye on yours is the best that you can do.
