Need Breakaway Instruction

I am trying to get my 65 AS on the road and it has no battery and an old Univolt.I have no idea what works.I am going to to a floor replacement so I need a temp. fix.to move the coach for frame work etc.
A short explanation for connecting the breakaway switch to the battery would be great.

To state the obvious, a working breakaway switch needs working brakes. While a smaller trailer to some extent can be braked with the tow vehicles brakes, good brakes are another matter on a larger trailer. How far do you have to tow?

I would not worry to much about not having a breakaway switch for one tow. But that is me. Just be careful. Does your state require a working breakaway switch?

I second Lee's posting about Ehow. Looks easy enough.

Think you will be joining us at the Vintage Rally?

Rally

Steve,
Just found out today I am planning on the rally I will PM you.
I got the trailer with no battery and the umiblical cord had no end,(which makes me think a short) so I have to get all these things in order.
We towed back to Texas from Ark. with no brakes and temp tail lights.Luckily my brother's big Dodge deisel had no problem. My TV is a Chevy 1500 so the trailer brakes are more important.
Thanks everyone for the electrical link.
