I travel with trailers all over the country, With out any trailer breaks! It is not advised however nor is hooking up old eletrical trailer systems to new tow vehicle. It can cost $$$ to fix eletrical systems! I would not take the back roads... They tend to have sharp corners, hills, and vary in speeds. More braking required!
Please note I only do this on old trailers im am picking up for the first time and know nothing about!
