Just wanted to confirm 12/2 for a '78 Sovereign?

I'm looking to replace my backing plates and wanted to ensure I got the right ones. This is what I'm checking out.

Any help/feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Scott

There is a different part number for the other side of the trailer.

Thanks Andy, when you say "ok", do you mean there's a better option for me or those will work just fine?

Yep, just need two per side, right? Nothing else I'm missing?

Since you are replacing thew backing plates, it would be a good time to repack the wheel bearings. I would add 4 grease seals and some grease to the list.

Yeah, actually the PO must have just had that done. That's how I found out I needed hardware kits for the brakes. The bearings and grease are new within 3 months.

Thanks!

Keep in mind, that the brake rating is only true when "everything" in the brake system, is perfectly adjusted.

You are looking at 5200 pound backing plates.

There are 6000 pound backing plates that are also available.

Then to go one step even better, you can get 6000 pound brake assemblies, "that are self adjusting". Those keep the brake system as close to perfect adjustment all the time, as you can get.
