Electric Brake Question

Greetings. Please redirect me if I've posted this message in the wrong forum.

I've got a 19' Bambi (2006?) and just bought a new tow vehicle, 2010 Honda Ridgeline. I rescued the Tekonsha electric brake controller unit from my old truck, but not sure if the new truck requires me to reinstall it. The new truck has a plug in the back for a 7 prong plug, with one apparently for electric brake. Not sure if I need to do something to either the truck or the trailer before our trip to the Denver next month.

I don't think the Ridgeline has an integrated brake controller, it's just that the tow package includes connections for you to easily add one. You can either wire the Tekonsha in manually, or order a custom harness from e-Trailer or another vendor that sells integrated kits. There should be a plug under the dash, hopefully as easy to find and access as the one in my F150 with a tow package.

My Honda truck had a connector up under the dash, drivers side, for the brake controller. I remember it having a light blue connector.

Ridgelines don't have an IBC, you'll need to purchase a controller and probably a harness adapter for it. I do remember most, if not all, are pre-wired for it.

You should be pre-wired - do a Google search on Ridgeline Towing - if I remember correctly, there is a whole group out there that tows with their Honda's....
