Disc Brake Maintenance

What are AS owners with the new disc brake system doing to help perserve their rotors during inactivity? I have had to deal with the same issues on aircraft and resolved it by going with a corrosion resistance "coated" rotor. Are their any available for a 2008 Classic Limited? Thanks.....steve

Thumbs up

Something like this may be a less expensive option,

Saves the tires and axles also.

Not as much of a concern in Looz-e-anna though.

You should have Dexter disc with never lube hub, the rotor assembly will seperate from the hub if you're concerned about winter weather, this means loosening the caliper to get the rotor off, quite alot of effort for preventative maintennance. The Dexter manuals only show a painted rotor.

We still use our trailer through out the winter months. I just not use to a trailer with disc brakes. Guess all the more reason to get out and camp every few months. Thanks to all for the good info..... steve
