Direct Link Brake Controller Warning

If you are considering the new Direct Link Brake Control and already have any form of tuning/monitoring system plugged into the OBD2 port you need to know.

I recently bought, directly from Tuson, a Direct Link Brake Controller. Before purchasing I call Tuson and asked if there was any problem using the 2 systems together. The response was just install a splitter and all will be good. Armed with that info I bought and installed the new controller only to find out that it set my Edge Evolution crazy, setting a code ever second as long as the engine was running.

Some investigation and I found that 2 systems attempting to share the communication coming from the TV CPU will cause problems. I returned the Direct Link advising Tuson that they should cease claiming no problem when asked if their system would work with a splitter on the OBD2.

While I can not comment on the Direct Link, having never got on the road with it, I strongly suggest anyone considering using it with any other equipment get a written statement from Tuson before buying.
