How is the 12v TV/trailer wire connected to your Dexter. Mine seems to be connected directly to the Dexter unit. The side effect is my TV is not charging my batteries.

The trailer/TV comes up into the trailer. The black wire is separated and another black wire is added for length with a butt connector. That wire goes back out the same hole to the outside and is part of other wires in a plastid loom and it seems to come out in hydraulic actuator compartment.

If your tow vehicle has an integrated controller like my Silverado, it is necessary to make the TV think there are drum brakes on the trailer for the controller to know there is a trailer back there. I have two brake magnets mounted on the box behind the propane tanks to make my Silverado think there are drum brakes on the trailer. Works fine. I would leave the magnets hooked up if I were you. I wrote an article some time back in Airstream Life magazine on using magnets with GM integrated controllers.

My TV is a Tundra and I use a Prodigy 2. It is set for E/H mode. Do I still need this magnet?

Probably not. OTOH, it doesn't hurt anything and if for any reason the trailer needs to be towed by another TV, it may permit the controller in that TV to work where it would not work otherwise. For instance, without the magnet, I could not tow it with my 2013 Silverado using the built-in controller.

OK, I'll leave it alone then.

Thanks for the advise.
