Controller for Disk Brake Retro-fit

First of all, be kind to me this is my first thread. We have a 1971 Safari that is currently being upgraded to disc brakes from the standard electric drum brakes. I'd like to know if my Prodigy brake controller will be compatible with the new electro-hydraullic disc braking system.

Thanks 2air'. Actually the trailer is down in Eugene, OR. getting the installation right now and I don't know which system they are installing. I'll have to give them a jingle tomorrow to find out.

The other thread you alerted me to seems to indicate that the Prodigy will work as long as it's calibrated and you use the boost feature.

Thanks again
Pete

sure pete

if the a/s dealer is doing the work it is likely the kodiak system...

you are gonna LOVE how she stops!

and don't forget to post some photos...

We are also having the axles aligned, new aluminum wheels installed and new bearings installed. Hopefully this will stop our trailer from making the "wierd, wierd tire wear pattern" (see DMRoot thread in 1969-1973 Safari).

new wheels and bearings, cool!

yes, i've seen those STRANGE tire wear patterns....

and haven't a clue to the cause.

are you getting new axles too? are the 36 year old ones still riding properly?

inland andy never commented on your tire pattern...

and often the response is 'balance that running gear'...

but i wondered IF one shot axle or even one shot side could cause some of that funky wear...

keep us updated...

cheers

Yes. We are having the axles checked. I looked at them pretty closely before dropping the trailer at the shop and they still have a decent camber to them. So we're having the shop check the alignment. The tech at the shop seemed to think that the tire wear pattern may have been caused by loose bearings. All I know for sure is that previous owners dragged that trailer a loooonnnngggg way with poorly adjusted running gear!
