Can I do this?

So this is my thought.
I have the old Hydra-vac brakes on the 31fter and electric brakes on the new to us 34fter and I am wondering if it is possible to switch the two.
I have collected extra calipers and rotors that would give me "6" to work with.
I think all I would need to do is install the hydro-lines on the big trailer and mount either a new actuator or the old booster and master cylinder off the 31fter. Anyone see anything wrong with doing this and also putting the drums and electric brake setup off of the 34ter onto the 31fter?
Just know we will use the big trailer more and would like the disc brakes but can't afford the new prices right now.

I do not see a problem with that. Make sure all 6 brakes are the same, though. Including new brake pads.
The electric brakes from the 34 should bolt right up to the 31.
Make sure the electro-hydraulic actuator is capable of running 6 brake calipers, though. You will love the disc brakes on a trailer as heavy as a 34ft Airstream!

What do you mean, make sure the actuator is capable....?
Do they come with difference capacity pumps for more pressure?

The actuator or booster assembly from your 77 is old and subject to many failures.

Changing the rotors is ok, but you need brakes on all 6 wheels on the 34.

I would suggest you change to a new actuator for the 34, and install new brake lines.

The Actibrake actuator will work fine with the original disc brake calipers that came on your 77.

You should install the new actuator, behind the front lounge or in an access compartment.

I have a 77. I abandoned the disc brakes that came with the unit about 5 years ago because of repeated failures on the road which left me stranded four times 1,000 miles from home and I could not find a dealer who would fix them in any reasonable turnaround time. The last time they failed two of the four the caliper holder fabrications failed by cracking the welds where the pins met the flat plates. Brake parts came loose and flew all over the road. Luckly it was only at 30 miles per hour in a quick stop necessity with good brakes on the truck which saved me. The other two claiper holders had small cracks. Two of the failures on the road were due to the brake actuator. The parts are not readily accessable reasonably quickly and very few people know how to fix the old actuators. I would suggest, if you want good disc brakes and use the trailer on the road, that you wait until you can afford a completely new set. Poor brakes are better than no brakes and if you use your trialer alot, you will be faced with the no brake situation in the most inconvient locations on the road.
