Break inspection is needed every year?

Got this service promo from dealer. Not sure if it's a must step before kicking off camping season every year.

First is important,after that I keep an eye on temperature of of hubs/wheel on every stop. Proper brake controller adjustment is key for longevity of shoes and keeping heat out of the hub/bearings.
My last trailer had 57,000 miles when I traded.
I pulled,inspected,adjusted twice. Never packed a bearing never replaced a part ,always looked like it should. Towed on Goodyear marathon at 8000 plus pounds, never a flat or blowout. Some would call it luck at my towing speed with my SOB but it worked. Hope my Airstream treats me the same!

You might get a thousand opinions, of a thousand people who may or may not know. Everyone of them will say the way they do it is correct. Some people try to sell you services you do not need, or at the opposite end of the spectrum, some might say never do anything.

My advice is read your owner's manual, you can trust your owner's manual.

I'm not sure I would trust any dealer that can't spell "axle" in their marketing materials....

I just discovered a missing caliper bol on one of my 6 disc brakes.... I had just inspected everything a few months ago. Never know what fails when youre not looking.

If your state issues inspection stickers for trailers (some do, some don't) then you need to have the trailer inspected before the sticker expires, same as on your tow vehicle.

Otherwise, it's up to you whether to have the trailer brakes inspected or not. But since the consequences of brake failure can be catastrophic, I personally would choose to err on the side of caution. Think of it as collision-avoidance insurance.
