Exclamation Break Away Wire Damaged

The last time I parked the Airstream and unhooked it, the safety brake wire got caught on the hitch when I pulled the truck away. Needless to say, the wire broke. I can fix the wire with no problem.

My questions is did this lock up the brakes on the Airstream? Do I need to have the brake system checked for any damage?

If the wire pulled out of the breakaway switch and activated the brakes, the answer is yes, if the brakes were on full power for more than 5 minutes.
If it was a clean break in the wire and the brakes did not come on, you should be able to just fix the wire.

Luckily, the PO had an abundance of wire and it was really too long to begin with.

The replacement includes a new pin, not just the wire - so pretty cheap as John says.
