The switch is activated by pulling the pin out of the housing by pulling on the cable. To deactivate it, simply replace the pin in the housing.
BTW: Do not pull the pin out with the umbilical cable connected to your tow vehicle. Depending on the brake control you have, it will very likely fry the controller.
