Do I have any recourse on getting reimbursed for repairs already done?

I actually had a conversation with Parrott when this happened, almost two years ago. It was obviously a design flaw. I wanted to know what they were going to do to fix it, and he basically told me to pound sand.

Jim is now in a different job.

Contact Airstream and ask.

Recall FYI

Just thought I'd follow up with some info I received from Airstream this morning....

Airstream units retrofitted at the factory are NOT involved in this recall, as the hoses are not sourced from Dexter but another company, therefore not failing.

I had posted last week, my concern about my unit having been retrofitted with discs at the factory. It would seem to me that all the parts both production and retro, woould be the same.

Glad to know for sure!

Hope this helps those with after the fact systems...

Airstreamers,

If you get the recall repair, could you please try to get a picture of the new hose before installation and try to get a pic after installation and post please? I'm curious about their solution, hose configuration and routing. I already took care of mine.

Thanks,

Gary

ALL recalls (safety in particular) that GM issues offer reimbursement and instructions on how to document and obtain reimbursement. Ask your local dealer for a copy of their recall bulletin. Not sure about RVs, but with autos it is REQUIRED that they be made available to the public upon request.

Brake Re-call

Our '09 Classic was included in the brake recall. The problem from our standpoint was that there is no longer an Airstream trailer dealer in the state of GA. I contacted Airstream directly and discussed this with them. After interviewing (by phone) a local dealer that I recommended who handles SOB and does have a good reputation, they agreed to send the replacement parts directly to him and worked out something regarding the labor charges.

I thought that was very accommodating of Airstream to do this and it certainly did save me a lot of driving and expense to accomplish this task.

Walter,

Hope everything goes smooth. Please if you can, get a picture of the new hose assy if possible. I'm curious as to their configuration.

Brake Recall

We recently had our brakes repaired in California and the new line is straight rather than a 90 degree angle like the original. The brake lines on our '06 were nearly broken!

Gary,

Sorry, but they already had the job finished before I got your message.

Thank goodness for Airforums.

If we hadn't seen this thread we would have been none the wiser.

Having emailed JC, it was confirmed that our trailer is on the recall list. Action is now taking place for the parts to be shipped to the UK to be fitted by Airstream Europe.

There are a few dealers that care about Airstreamer's well being.

I am the second or third owner of my 2003 Classic and, of course, our name isn't on the original owners card that was sent to JC ( if original owners cards are sent).
My question is-- since I am not the original owner, how would I get my name of a list of 2003 Classic owners who might have a recall issue on my unit that I could not possible have been notified, by mail?
Does this make sense?
I am a member of wbcci, #4782
Thanks

Mac,

Did you try writing a letter to AS in Jackson Center?

No, I never even thought about it until I saw this recall. I guess I will be writing a letter soon.
Thanks
