brake hookup

i am soon going to possibly be getting a 94 limited classic. i know there is a brake connection that i must have for my truck. this is all new to me. this is my 1st rv. is there more than 1 type of connection that i should be aware of?

also, any pricing info for this trailer would help. it is a 30' 94 limited classic. they are asking $23,500. there are extras.

i am not locked in to this trailer, so if anyone else knows of others for sale, i would be interested. i am in ky, but can travel , now, to some degree.

thanks j-lss

Welcome aboard jugluss! You will value these forums as a never ending resource.

Simply put, you will need a brake controller installed in your tow vehicle -- do a search on those two words and you will see discussion in many different directions. You will learn what questions to be asking as you approach that part of your possible purchase.

That's a big, heavy trailer and you will need to be looking at a 3/4-ton truck or van at the very least. Take a look at http://www.airstream.com/product_lin...aq.html#weight and learn as much as you can about safe and adequate tow vehicles.

Maybe one of your extras will be a good weight distributing hitch with sway control? Every one of us have had to deal with that!

Good luck and fortitude with burning the midnight oil figuring all this out.
