Backing plate replacement

I have ordered a new backing plate and magnet for my 86' Sovereign but the nuts are rusted and I can't even get a socket on them due to the clearance. I doubt that they can be removed without cutting them off. Does anyone have any experiance with this/

Try soaking them with Kroil and put some heat on them
